Hi,

I joined this forum yesterday.
Would someone be kind enough to answer a few quick questions.
Is link mentions forbidden if they are related to a web directory?
Are signiture links allowed?
How do you add codes and smiley faces?
Thanks

If a link involves giving out an obvious clue to any specific site or business (whether yours or someone else's) then that would often violate one of these items:

21. We do not allow review my site posts...

25. Self promotional URL drops and whisper campaigns are strictly forbidden...

26. Claims of action, flames, and calls to action against any company or person will be removed.

It's possible with a bit of thought to discuss almost any issue without identifying a particular business, and that's what works the best and has the most value for all members.

Also, every individual forum has its own Forum Charter toward the top of the page, and that gives you an extra set of guidelines.

Thank you tedster,
I am begining to get the hang of it.
exept that if in the directories forum. If I comment about a feature of yahoo that would be ok right? but what if I want to discuss a less major directory. As I understand it would be upto the moderator to decide. Am I correct?

Yes -- when you are in doubt, drop a Sticky Mail to the moderators before you post and ask. I'm sure that the Directories moderators, Laisha and NFFC, will be very glad to help out with your question.
