For the first time that I can remember I have had a post pulled which I was 100% responsible for (I started it). If I have offended anybody lately (or ever), accept my apologies.

So what happens during an edit or delete. Do you lock the post or clone it then update it and rewrite during an edit.

Do you keep a record somewhere of edits so that if people complain that they have been unfairly treated or deny something you can say:

"hold the phone bonehead, this is exactly what you said, we have a record of it dont you know, now please cease from talking a load of old donkey"

or similar words.

Getting more parnoid :) do you keep a file on each user, a dossier so to speak.

wondering.

# 1 >or similar words.

Yes, but there is rarely time anymore for conversation, much less debate. We do try to grunt and point in the general direction.

#2 >Getting more parnoid :) do you keep a file on each user, a dossier so to speak.

No. But we have one hell of a collective memory, no need for the file system.

#3 Quit worrying, ukgimp.

There is a separate forum which is only visible to the moderators where they report all the regular offenders. ;)

Hehe they could classify members based on which forum they post in the most! :)

Eg, "Ah Lawman....clearly a Foo-ite!"

Or (new members)

"Oh no - not another Googlenews Troll!"

:)

A lot of people think I was not at the Boston conference, wrong!

I was diguised as a waiter. Sampling fingerprints and DNA out of all those glasses was a lot of job!

>>no need for the file system

The similarities between WebmasterWorld and the Borg Collective become more and more apparent with each passing day..:)
