Many of us will have come across examples of 'political corrctness' taken to extremes.

But 'webmasterworld': Shouldn't that be webmaster/webmistress world? Or failing that, webpersonworld...

I just think webmistress sounds much better than webmaster, for girls :)

Sorry, think I need sleep...

web·mas·ter    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (wbmstr)
n.
A person whose occupation is designing, developing, marketing, or maintaining websites

I wouldn't want to be called a webmistress ever. I'd feel like I was having an affair with a married web site or something;)

I personally don't like the term "webmistress" either. But maybe I've been watching too many talk shows that refer to female owner's of adult sites as webmistresses. I don't think I have ever seen the term webmistress used in a non-adult-site context before, or at least not in an environment with other webmaster professionals, such as here. I think the term mistress just brings up a lot of connotations with people that aren't always flattering.

So webmaster suits me just fine ;)

My boyfriend and a former co-worker (no connection between them) have referred to me as "Web Goddess"... which suits me fine, but doesn't sound very professional. ;)

Hmmm... I really like Web Goddess, I am going to have to remember that one. Probably fine in a female webmaster group, but I agree, doesn't sound too professional when you are trying to land corporate clients, LOL.

"ahh well i learnt something very interesting and informative on webpersonworld"

"webpersonworld? whats that?"
