Last month someone started a "serious" update thread, for webmasters to discuss "the algo" rather than just complain or show off.

Maybe the same this time?

I suggest 3 threads :

Serious - "It seems link text is more important etc..."
Moaning - "Google has ruined my life, PR has dropped"
Gloating - "Yes! Life is sweet! We are ranked No.1!"

At least seperate the serious from the "me, too" or "we've gone up or down" posts. For a relative beginner like me it's a pain in the neck trolling through 500 posts to find 30 that actually say something that I can learn from.

That would be yours truly. ;) I started that for precisely the reason you liked it: I wanted to keep the algo analysis separate from the posts by webmasters expressing joy or despair about the new update. If the update happens at some time when I am around the computer, I'll likely do it again.

In the algo thread there should also be no questions like, "Is my site banned?" "What is the update?" "Spammers everywhere!"
