The hotel is "almost" full the night of the conference (26th). If you call them, they will tell you it is full on the night of the conference, but don't panic!

Not so... I booked through travelnow, and signed up for byRequest about two weeks afterward. Got a confirmation the next day as well. :)

Sign up for it, and then they send you an email. One of the links in the email is to "confirm prior registration". You will need your hotel confirmation number you were given when you booked the room.

Priceline and Hotwire play the "tell us what you want, but we won't tell us what you get until after you pay for it" game... hence the term "blind booking".

Travelnow, Expedia, etc., are not "blind" services, as they do the "tell us what you want, and we'll tell you how cheap you can get it before you pay" routine. Hence the reason you still qualify for the byRequest benefits after booking through them.

I like to think I'm special, but I don't think this is evidence of it. ;)

Bags are nearly packed and am almost ready to go! I leave for Boston tomorrow morning. I can't wait to meet you all! I'll be the one with the heavy duty sweat shirt, blue lips and shivering. :(

I looked at the 5 day forecast ... doesn't look all that wonderful at the moment. Lows are expected to be in the low 40's and highs in the mid 50's. Yikes! Its been 10 years since I have experienced anything less than 72 degrees ... and I thought that day was cold!

a little update on lodging .... As of this morning, I was unable to book a room at the Wyndham Tremont. Sold out even if you call our special contact person for booking WebMaster World rooms.

After a little scrabbling, I found "affordable" lodging at the Swissotel down the street via Hotels.com. Paid somewhere around 149 a night. Hope this helps other fellow procrastinators.

Yep, official - the last few rooms filled up this morning and hotel is booked solid friday and saturday.

There is also the Radison just around the corner from the Tremont.

I've stayed at probably 500+ hotels in my life from best westerns to the big time high roller swanks in vegas and the Wyndham downtown boston is one of the best hotels I've ever been in.
