PubCon - Approached your boss/client/other for $ assistance?

Or did you put your kids to work selling cookies at the mall?

I take frequent vacations, and usually plan them 5 months ahead of time. Had I known earlier about PubCon I would have reserved some time for it, and budgeted for two trips in the spring. Boy, am I bummed. :(

A friendly suggestion: Please announce PubCon a little more ahead of time. Go60 told me about it, and I did a search in the forums but couldn't find any information. None. So I couldn't plan ahead for it. Maybe it was announced around here earlier (?), but I couldn't find a reference to it.

NOW I'm thinking that it would be really cool if a beloved client would sponsor my flight over to beantown...

Has anybody else thought about approaching a boss/client/significant other?

Has the short announcement time put a crimp in your ability to plan ahead for this?

Announced and talked about for a little while, and in the members area there was word of it also. I see advertisement in the top right hand corner which catches my attention letting me know about the conf. I think that part of the announcement time is due to arrangements falling into place. :) I asked about it last week and i knew about it about two or three weeks before or something. :O

I'm going to approach my client about this. They're pretty happy with me.
