again about laptops

laptops and ps2 maouse

I have a laptop. Asus A1000 and i have attached on it's ps2 port a ps2 mouse, optical with scroll. .. The scroll doesn't work. if i scroll on a web page up or down, nothing happens. The mouse is working just fine on a desktop PC, but on my laptop no..

Any sugestions guys?

I would have thought that it is perhaps something to do with drivers for it, and that the ones on the laptop do not support a scroll wheel. Have you installed any software that came with the mouse?

If you are running windows 2000 or xp, or most any linux, your scroll wheel should work fine on your laptop. If it doesn't there's something wrong, windows should find it fine, linux might need to be configured to recognize the scroll wheel,.
