NVidia vs ATI Radeon - Which card is better?

If you had the choice, which would you choose?

Which of these are better cards:

1) Nvidia 128 GeForce FX 5200 AGP

-or-

2) ATI Radeon 120 PCI-Express X300

?

I have the GeForce FX 5200 - but have the opportunity to trade even for the Radeon X300... what would YOU do?

I'd check my motherboard to make sure it supports the new PCI Express bus!

Keep the Nvidia. I've had various problems with ATI over time....

jdMorgan brought up a very good point. We just got in some new computers that have the PCI Express bus, and the Matrox cards we use are AGP. urggg.

While the specifications on the Compaq Presario models we purchased stated 'available expansion slots: 2 PCI, 1 AGP,' it turns out they are now PCI Express instead.

So it's worth double-checking the bus configuration, whichever way you are going.

If you are asking for a less than scientific view, I say Nvidia. I've had less compatibility problems using the over the years using the Nvidia drivers, however I don't know the speed test comps, which could help me decide.

I own the Nvidia 128 GeForce FX 5200 AGP card you are looking at buying. It runs excellent for all apps so far (including my high end games). I highly recommend it.
