Hi, first the question and then I will explain why I ask here.
I really love my Surface, I've had a few, this is not the first one. Yet, the stylus often fails, it's not a Bluetooth issue, it's not an screen or digitize issue: it's the stylus. Don't ask me why I know this or how I reduced it to this only suspect, and yes, the Surface Stylus uses the MPP protocol.
Originally, thought about buying a new one (new stylus), but I have second thoughts after diving into the topic, there are just too many cases around the world complaining about the random failures, and I come to think there is an issue with the protocol, or the technology. Most times the stylus just starts working again out of the blue, there is no problem with the battery or batteries, but most times replacing the battery works, or just removing it and leaving it off for a while.
Sometimes the stylus just stops working when accidentally I touch the keyboard with my palm in certain way, as if some static charge could cause the interference.
Any ideas?
I ask here because WebmasterWorld remains till this day at the top of my list as one of my favorite forums. Here I've found very respectable brains knowing a little bit of this and that. And, it's sad how the web has turned into a nightmare, some forums have absolutely no life, others have communities were people just don't read, or their answers are "nah, just buy the new Surface 45 with 100G RAM and magic stylus" it's insane. I know there are some communities where there is a lot of knowledge, but I really dislike user/trolls, or automated filters like "I see you used the world -surface-, you need 800 points of reputation to post", or the insane users "this is the wrong section, yes it's hardware but -whatever random reason-", or worse, "duplicate", no, it's not a duplicate.
