We accidentally did not read one of hosting providers 1 month payment notice..
(as changed required registered email)

After 5-6 months+ today, checked old email account and found 2 domains hosted were showing account suspended messages..
Its been 6 months since account was suspended as per records on host.

Should we pay entire 6 months due (where account was suspended) or only 1 month due since notice.
Host send us 10$ x 7 months notice = 70 $

Kindly help.. (though the database backups and domains we have with us)
Need to understand this kind of scenarios.

The best thing you can do is read the Terms of Services and other legal documents you agreed to when signing up with this hosting company. Legal advice is not something we are used to to provide here on this board, especially not in this hardware forum. You may want to consult a local lawyer about this issue instead.

Hello lammert,
Thanks and appreciated for reply..
I assume 51% webmasters here, wont read those TOS.

Should we pay for those suspended period or not, is the ony question.
Are we bound to pay for period where services where closed due to non-payment. I dont think this is a legal question..

Just a request for suggestion.

If those are their terms I suspect you only have two options: pay or move to a new host. There are small resellers that might grant an exemption, so it depends on the host as well. Have you asked them for a break? If it is a big block host, I would pay or move.

Not sure what this has to do with anything. The issue isn't even if you read the TOS. The issue is that you agreed to the TOS when you signed up and are bound by them whether or not you read them.

Actually, this IS a legal question and it depends on what your local laws say. (Unless you are asking if you are ethically obligated to pay, in which case it's up to your own personal ethics if you are going to pay or not.)

It all comes down to what is specified by the TOS. If the TOS says you have to pay for the months while suspended, then that's what you have to do. If the TOS doesn't say anything, then it's apparently open to negotiation with your hosting company.
