Looks like Dell will finally take the plunge.

Dell finally announced that it will start using AMD's processors, breaking its long-standing, single-source relationship with Intel and giving AMD yet another victory over its archrival.

Yeah! It's about time. We'll still have to wait for them to filter down to regular computers, (just servers for now) but a little competition on pricing and performance should be good for us consumers.

Samsung builds major plant (thousands of workers):
AMD expands work force late last year.
Dell continues to expand.
Yesterday: HP announces it will open two massive data centers here.

And now Dell goes with home town AMD!

The systems people that I know aren't buying fancy dual core servers at the moment only storage.

Servers center energy/cooling costs have sky rocketed recently.
