I have a 280watt/560 peak watt (100watt subwoofer) 5.1 system I got this spring... and well it sounds great.
I've noticed that the old glazing on a lot of my windows are being rattled out of place during some heavy jamm sessions with the volume turned up. Not really a problem... but..
I was wondering if the vibration may cause some problems with the computer itself... the woofer is on the hardwood floor... and the computer is sittting on a shelf on the wall and receives less vibration from it's "perch"... has anybody ever put down a dampening pad... I was thinking maybe a peace of old neoprene (wetsuit or mouse pad) or similar to soften the vibration down to nil...
Thoughts.. comments... (in the old days we were talking vinyl records and needle skip, and players were spring based or we hung them from the ceiling with springs...)
Each drive failed in exactly the same way - I would start to hear them "click" as if the head was being parked automatically. I know some hard drives will automatically park the heads if there is a sudden movement; but you would hear them click every few minutes - and quite loudly too. Then one day they just don't boot. I'd take precautions if I were you...!
