Hi all, I am looking to buy a multimontior system for my PC. I am currently looking the "Zenview Command Center 17A" from Digital Tigers. I would post the direct URL here, but I imagine that would violate the TOS of the boards. A quick G search on the keyword in quotes above will bring you to the exact page.

I was wondering if anyone else was using multiple montiors and if so how many and where did you make your purchase.

Are there any drawbacks or risks I need to be aware of?

Thanks for your time,
Gus

When you set it up and run more than one, you'll find it frustrating to go back to one monitor while away from the desk.

I've heard that it takes a very powerful machine to run this many monitors (6). While my machine is decent its not overly powerfull.

Do multiple monitors need additional software, or does the OS take care of it?

I remember older versions of Windows had a tech note (which I can't find) that noted a hard limit of 9 VGA devices - but for pratical purposes, it is the amount of slots on your MB and how nicely the cards you buy share resources - I've had 6 monitors on 3 Nvidia dual-head cards in 2000 and XP with no problems - I prefer their driver handling to ATI's for more than one monitor.

For pro setups, you'll use real breakout boxes to drive any number of video devices.
