We run relatively new Myspace resource site which provides free image hosting, flash mp3 players, layouts, etc.
The site is growing at a rate of knots - at the start of the month, we had around 7000 unique visitors a day, about 88,000 page views a day (4.73GB)
15 days later we have about 15,000 visitors a day, about 430,000 page views a day (7 GB) and things don't look like slowing down.
In the near future, we are going to offering image hosting space (15-20MB per user) and I imagine we'll have about 100,000 visitors a day. We will be serving images through flash slide players, graphics and a variety of other flash files via our server.
I was wondering if someone might be able to help me do some forward projections to help me work out exactly what I will need in terms of hosting.
It's important that the site is always up, and that images (and files) that are being "leeched" from our site load quickly. I also need to think about storage space and scalability for flash applications like our slide show creator. Can anyone help?
