My old harddrive died so I ran the computer on an old harddrive I had (3gig...) which is full.. It is runing XP.
I went and bought a new HD and wanted to add it to my computer.
After connection, it is showing in "device manager" but wont show in "my computer"...
What do I need to do? format it somehow? if so, how?
This must be a lame problem but I will appreciate any help available.

You might want to go to the Disk Manager (hard to say where/whether you'll find that without knowing what you're running) to verify that the drive is physically detected OK and, if necessary, to format it, label it, assign it a drive letter, or whatever you like.
In XP, the Disk Manager can be found (quite tediously) by right-clicking "My Computer", selecting "Manage", then double-clicking "Disk Management" in the resulting treeview.
