Hi I need to get a new monitor and was thinking of getting a NEC standard display then thought should I get a Widescreen?

Does a widescreen affect web developing? I mean as you are watching on widescreen, you could end up doing a whole site which looked different on another monitor.

Does Dreamweaver/photoshop work well on a widescreen?

Thanks

What resolution is each monitor (I presume they are both flat panels rather than CRTs)?

For web design, best to have a reg'lar monitor, like the masses who will be reading your site.

Widescreen monitors ARE great! Get an adjustable mount so you can turn it 90 degrees. Some work (and most play) is better with a wide screen, some (like typing plain text or making documents) are way better on a tall screen. Either configuration makes people covet your workstation.

The widescreen ones run 1440 X 900 pixels- remember that if your work must have 1024 pixels of width.

widescreen is better for multimedia purpose.
i think a regular LCD-TFT is all you need for web design.

I mean If you have studied the LCD technology, even TFT-LCD, you will see, that you lose verry much living the CRT behind.
Plasma isn something else.
