Looking for a new laptop

Need some help deciding on the cheapest model of new notebook pc with these specs;

15” or 17” lcd
1.7Gb (533Mhz) CPU (Pentium)
1Gb RAM ddr2 (533Mhz)
7200rpm HDD (40Gb+ is OK)
Combo or DVDRW drive
Onboard video is ok.
Must be new with new warranty.

I don't care about brands too much but I don't want a dell system. I have a mate that can get me some $ off the price of all brands except dell. I will not spend any more than $2,200 AU.

We're not allowed to post links according to the TOS, but I don't think you'll have a problem finding something with those specs for your price range.

Have you looked at any of the new tablet notebooks, with the touchscreen? Those are phenomenal. You can use them like a normal laptop computer, or you can rotate and fold the screen for use in a true notebook style, using the stylus pen to write on the screen.

OK I have done some hunting and from what I can find this seems to be the way to go. It's an Acer TravelMate 4064WLMi which has a 100Gb Hard drive, I assume the hard drive is 7200rpm if it's 100Gb right?
Anyway can you guys think of a make/model for the price? I am able to get that one for $1,890 AU.

I recently purchased an Acer laptop as well and am happy with it. I'm no laptop connisseur, but it works fine. I think Acer's have the reputation of the low end cheapie side of the market, which was fine for me.
