The server runs 200 websites (of which 3 have sql databases the rest are static) and the total unique daily visitors to the server won't exceed 2,000.

Yeah! Still no happy there. Might go from the 32Gb option. Only an extra £2k.
That is a dream system for sure!
I put up a Dell PowerEdge at a colo yesterday. The network is balanced between about 4 different providers, all of which are in the same building as the colo. When I got home and logged in, it was so fast I thought it was local.
anyways, if you find you've got space to spare (unlikely with that puny little setup but who knows), i've got a forum you could host!
For $2k more, I'd probably opt for that extra RAM that's a steal. Just make sure your OS supports it as does teh MOBO.

Would it not be cheaper to just fax your content to visitors instead of running a server.

Sadly, not. The sensitive data will mean I can't host out, otherwise my sites would be on there.

It's a HP server that is being customised.
