Maxtor External Drive

HELP please!

Hello,

I just got a maxtor one touchII drive. I isntalled it but am not able to unlock it. I shut off the security but still to no avail. I have an Iomgea drive on another PC that works fine.

Any ideas?

I burnt up an iomega external drive.,, or scrambled it anyway... made it totally unusable.

Not that that has any possible bearing on your unfortunate situation but there it is.

I prefer seagates.

Why can't you contact the vendor?

Not sure what you mean by unlock it... do you maybe need to format it first?
