ISO: Optical mouse with blue tracking light...

I know that red tracks better due to contrast, but someone out there must have one in their product line that is halfway decent. I just can't seem to locate one.

I thought about picking up an old Logitech and modifying it myself, but would much rather buy one off the shelf if they exist.

Well, if you can't find one then you've found a new niche market :D

[compusa.com...]

Or swap the LED:

Comments seem to indicate that tracking is worse with non-red LEDs.

I've got a great little mouse from HP (HP f2100a / f4185a) that came with my laptop. It's blue and works really well. I haven't had any problems with it's precision yet. It might be a good mouse to get parts from to modify one that you like better. I'm sure HP would be happy to sell you one.
