UK Tax Return, Foreign Income For Adsense?

Is Adsense considered foreign Income?

Hello everyone,

I know a lot of people are making a lot of money on the net, hopeful some from the UK can help me.

I am completing my UK tax return (self employed).

I earn about 90% of my income from American companies, such as Google Adsense / Pricegrabber etc.

Should Google etc be entered in the "Foreign Income" section?

====

I am completing my return online right now, and I entered the total income, deduction, and then added the foreign earnings.

The total earned was then calculated as "total income" - "Deductions" + "Foreign Income". This basically came to double what it should be.

I assume for the Adsense etc, I need to only enter it once, either in just the initial total, or just foreign.

Sorry if the above is confusing. I hope some one who has some experience can help me out.

p.s I have asked for help on the government form, and waiting for a reply.

Hi Ma2T - I am UK tax-registered like you but I am not a tax professional, so you'll still need to double-check, but if it helps at all, I have always counted all web-client income from the USA, the EU, Australia and wherever else as normal income (ie. not foreign income) on the basis that my sales operations are based here in the UK and when earnings from those sales operations arrive in my bank account they are always denominated in Sterling.

That said, your question has me wondering if this is really the correct way to go about things. Perhaps a few more UK-based webmasters can share their experiences?

Yes I declare all adsense, american aff sales etc as normal income as a self employed person.

Hi ronin and workingNOMAD,

Many thanks for your replies. It's very much appreciated.

I did come to the same conclusion after much searching around, but it's always nice to hear the same thing from people in the very same situation as me.
