Gallery3 hacked?

I have a legacy Gallery3 install that I could not update and it has 40k+ photos in it.

I tried to run the Gallery3 to Zenphoto script but could not get it to work.

Also I cannot update PHP to the most up to date version or it would stop working.

Previously I had forgotten to update my payment details for the Askimet anti spam plugin and there were 30k Russian spam bot comments on one page.

I had managed to get my WordPress install hacked on a previous server even with all the updates installed. Had to install extra stuff.

Running the malware scan on the host does not return any results.

I have sent a support request in but the host is 11hrs behind. Not sure what else to do?

I can't speak to Gallery3 but when converting older forum software you often have to take a few steps.

Older version of VB >> Older version of phpBB >> Newest version of phpBB

Option B as last resort is run a scraper like HTTrack and then just upload the static files. I'm assuming Gallery3 has HTML templates, just remove all the unnecessary links to comment ages, login etc. before scraping it. Ideally you do this locally.

Is the site on WP or phpBB?

The site is Gallery3 I originally tried to move the old photos over to Zenphoto but could not work out the issues with non-standard characters.

I cannot update PHP past a certain point or it will break the gallery3 software.

At this point as hardly anyone looks at my older photos I am ready just to move them over to a new Zenphoto install even if I can't get the captions to transfer. They are 44k of photos to move.

You can just move the albums directly and do a rebuild. It can literally just create the albums from a physical album in the directory.

I do have Wordpress installed but it a photo CMS.

There is *A* gallery running now. I just have to learn how to use a brand new TTY program and hit myself in the nards with a hammer I guess.
