Former Google engineer Felix Krause posted a consumer warning about Facebook and Instagram apps on his site wednesday - [

The article warns that Meta, owners of Facebook and Instagram, are
using an in-app browser that injects code into every website a user visits for tracking purposes.
- No way to opt out
- No way to remove injected tracking code
- Little warning to users that apps are not using the default browser
My opinion - seems a little shady whatever the reasoning because the entire purpose for using an in-app browser instead of the IOS default is to track and gather information users are not readily providing
while visiting non-Meta websites. For example, it would allow Meta to know who posted what on this forum.
As a webmaster, is there a way I can identify if a visitor is on such a Meta "in-app" browser and stop such code-injection?
The article is a thorough and interesting read.
