I've been seeing some hits recently from 74.125.210.0/24 (google-proxy ?) and in one instance the UA is

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_14_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/88.0.4324.175 Safari/537.36 Chrome-Lighthouse

Chrome Lighthouse?

Hits from that entire /16 are very rare, only 7 this year, 9 last year, and none previous to that until 2015.

Any idea what is behind hits from that IP range and/or that UA?

My notes show there are tools and services using that range. Not all good or evil without context so your best bet might be to use headers to decide what you want to allow. Pagespeed test proxy is one, Google Verification is another. Entirely possible to be used by competitors entering your URLs to be tested. The UA could be anything.
