Mailchimp is good but costs quickly ramp up once you pass 2,000 contacts so I am interested if there are alternatives?

We send a newsletter every couple of months so it isn't very intensive.

I have also used ConstantContact which is also pretty good.

Both collate unsubscribes and cleaned records (bounced) plus stats on who opens messages and anyone who clicks a link etc ...

Looking for alternatives?

I gave up my own system when it became tough to get messages through.
Those were the best two that I found, but, as you say, the cost soon ramps up.
I ended up using Mailchimp, but even then, some messages still get swallowed up.

I'd also be interested to know if there are any decent alternatives.

I have been doing a little examination of alternatives and they aren't plentiful. I am a bit surprised members on here don't know of alternatives or do it themselves because I believe email marketing is a good way to generate leads / sales (especially opt in). Certainly nearly all my mail-shots get a result of some kind (touch wood).

Update: I have been looking around and might have come right back to where I started, it seems our own CRM system can do a lot of what I need, there is a marketing automation add-on extra which I am now looking at.
