Moral AI --- Call the cops!

You have one of these in your house/office, right?

Smart assistants could soon come with a 'moral AI' to decide whether to report their owners for breaking the law.

That's the suggestion of academics at who say that household gadgets like the Amazon Echo and Google Home should be enhanced with ethical smart software.

Personally have not use for these things and none in office or house, but I know quite a few who have them. Kind of useful, but if these things become nanny AND can call the cops that's something different.

Wow- "Demolition Man" seems to be rather prophetic. I wonder if Google Home/Amazon Echo will soon spit out tickets as well.

Reporting breaking the law is one thing, but I am against anything that tries to impose someone else's morality on people.

I'm guessing that most of the users of these things have no real understanding of what they can/will do, now or in the future.

Me ... no thanks.

Voice command/activation of anything means it's always listening as I understand it anyhow.
