A website thats doing everything right?

Hi All,

I have pondered for a long time about what makes a good and sucessful website and then I wondered if there actually is a site out there that just is perfect. ie. a site that is doing everything right - perfect desing, code, seo, social media, ranking in the searches for their keywords, how they are selling their product etc etc Is there even such a thing? Is there a website whereby you could say, theres not much wrong with that site - its pretty perfect? Id love to hear other peoples opionions. Im always trying to improve my site and the service I provide and would find it very interesting to get an insight into what other people conceve as to being a sucessful site in any genre from all angles.

(Is that a strange question to ask? :) )

I don't think we are allowed to drop urls into posts here, but anyhow, there is a site I use dedicated to a type of product, it features detailed reviews of all the product on the market, much more detailed reviews than anyone else. It also covers accessory items and there is a massive user forum in which you can get advice on just about anything related. The site is incredibly content rich and that for me makes it great.

That is very helpful. So content (opposed to pretty pictures) on every page really is important. How many words on average for a general information page should we be looking at? Would you say around 1000 is acceptable for each page or should we be looking at more like 2000+? I'm guessing that would be really helpful with ranking too.
