I recently created a website for a client and he wants to hire me to maintain his site on regular basis. The site is WP and does not have too much work on it - uploading new photos, changing content, keep WP and plugins up to date. I just dont know what is a standard fee for such a part time job. Could you please advise?
Thanks all!

It can vary greatly depending on how much work they need and what type of work. Are you talking uploading 2 photos a month or 2 photos every day? Make an educated guess on how many hours it will take you, then apply your hourly rate. If it is a large amount of hours you might want to give a bulk discount.

As goodroi says, it depends upon the time each task will take, and your hourly rates..
I don't do that kind of work for others ( unless they really want to pay lots of money, or they have something I want and I can trade with them )..But it seems to me that similar work and rates questions have come up before here..
Try searching for posts by rocknbill, or seven cubed, ( missing you both guys ;) both of whom I know created and managed websites for others..a few years back this kind of work usually paid ( I think..again because these are not my rates ) around $50.00 per hour, or part thereof..add some for inflation..

Maybe someone who currently does this will chime in to say what current rates are..

I have no idea on standard month fees, and I don't have any idea on what "standard" might mean regarding work, read your description and what I can contribute to your thread is:

Separate updates from maintenance. Why? you can charge your standard monthly fee for up to let's say 5 articles per month = US$20, just an example. If the client sends just one note to you, doesn't matter, he can send you up to 5 per month no extra charge. The price? consider your time and resources, it's up to you really.

Why maintenance apart? well, checking for plugins to be up to date sounds really easy, it's just about checking, updating and done right? nope. For personal experience I can tell you one plugin update not being fully compatible with your current version of WP or the new update of WP itself might break the site completely and involving hours of work, perhaps even cloning the site to test plugins (really a good thing to do) or even rework the plugin to avoid problems and perhaps adapting an alternative. Been there.

good luck
