Renewing Customers Advertising Package

hi all,

A customer's advertising package expired today. Do I wait another day or two to inform him and ask if he would like to renew ?
Initially he planned to advertise with us for a year (that was the yearly package) however, asked if he could pay for 2 months to see the results and then decide to renew or not.

How do I go about it? Do I explain the traffic increase and future plans to convince him to advertise with us for the same price for the following 10 months? or does that sound too desperate?

My client will receive more traffic cause I'm spending 100% of that money towards purchasing more traffic.

Any advice and suggestions?

it doesn't sound desperate to me.
a reminder is always helpful, small businesses often have a lot on their mind and renewing his advertising may not have been in the forefront.

i'd say your reasons for improved traffic are sound and it can do no harm in telling him.

OK, he has had a trial period. In that sort of situation you NEVER leave the ball in the customer's court, start a dialogue, ask him how he has done.

I run a print magazine (yes they still exist) and keep up my advertising rates by keeping in touch with both current and previous advertisers.

thanks. I did actually ask how much traffic he was getting within 1st month. And then contacted him yesterday and he said he wasn't interested cause the traffic wasn't converting. I offered a 50% discount for the remaining first year and he agreed to continue advertising with us.
