I thought I posted this the other day but don't see it and I didn't get any message that it was taken down. It's possible I didn't post it as my browsers crashed.
I was looking through my 404 logs and saw an entry of /folder/\/ (foldername fwdslash backslash fwdslash. I don't recall every seeing anything like that before.
I didn't see any entries like that in my access or error logs but did find some in my referrer log that looked like
- -> /folder/\\/
The weird slash combo concerns me. I did a good bit of searching trying to find out if this was tied to a hack or not but couldn't find anything. I checked another site just to make sure that the \\/ wasn't something that I had missed. It did not exist in the logs for the other site.
BTW - the entries showed up in the 404 tab of SH404sef in joomla (2.5). That particular tool identifies 404s that have occured and gives you a way to do a redirect. However, since the entries were showing up in the referrer log, I don't believe that this issue is tied to that particular extension.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on this. I really want to make sure that this particular site stays clean.
