Images non available after move

Silly newby question (I'm ashamed)

Hi. Have had my site for years. Moving it for third time in years. I used a zip.tar file of the old server instead of uploading everything fresh from my local computer.

All images on the new server just won't appear in any browsers. I checked .htaccess, even deleted it. Checked hot link protections too. Disabled them. Nothing works. When I try to open an image hosted on the server directly, I get a 403 error. I checked permissions on the image folder and it's 775, so it should be safe.

What else could I have forgotten to check? Apache using Cpanel.

Ok. Done more tests. Really ashamed this time. Seems like only my computer blocks images... Removed Firewall, no changes.

Are your images located in a single folder? Might check your paths...

Me? I'd upload it the hard way first before trouble shooting. You do have it on your local computer, right?

Sounds like you've already done some trouble shooting... just start over. It's just time.

Yeah, deleted the whole new account and created one from scratch. But this time, I imported from my local computer and not the tar.gz archive. Now I can see the images. Probably some old legacy code somewhere blocking images that I just couldn't find. Now It works (I think)!
