inbound links question

I have a site that develops good content on a blogging platform regularly and have allot of webmasters that are in a similar "genre" ask us if they can use our content on their sites. We prefer keeping our site unique and have said no to most. We do however want to produce content that would be specifically for these other sites to publish and not be featured on our site. We basically want to produce a blog that we can send to all these sites that are asking for content and then within the blog content link back to our site. Much like a press release with links that others pickup and publish but in a blog format. the question i have is would there be any possibility of these inbound links hurting us or will it be a positive effect on the site?

The web is links. How those are done, and for what purpose, is what we all try to understand. If you wish to be unique, then do that! If you wish to be a content provider for other sites with no expectation of return links, then do that!

If they link back to you, as thanks, then they did that.

Short and sweet: Do your stuff. If you share it, don't complain if it hurts you. (Aside: I don't give stuff away, but I do demand a link if borrowed and I don't hit 'em with a take down)

Curmudgeonly old webmaster. Probably didn't read it right anyway. I thought you said I want to do a blog they can rip, give us links, but not be part of our site, yet we want the link juice... Did I miss the point?

no you did not miss the point tangor and thanks for the input...that is exactly it. the content would not be on my site but on many others and within the content there would be links back to me.
