Best download service for ebooks

Hi,

What is the best download website nowadays? Does they pay something or almost nothing?

I mean, I would like to offer ebook downloads through my website, but probably it wouldn't be a good idea to do it from my shared hosting;

So I'm looking for some reliable website which would be good for downloads.
Ebooks would be mostly legal (up to gray), it shouldn't be a big legal issue, the main question is how to organize it the best way?

But generally - yes - in our days everything is for lawyers;
We are living in the days when everything is considered in terms of legal/illegal, compyright, author-rights, etc.

Well, when you are offering material for download, "Do I have the legal right to make this content available?" is a pretty legitimate question.

To put it in "How does following the law benefit me?" terms: It's not much use posting a link, if the said link is liable to be yanked three weeks later due to copyright claims. It's almost bound to make your own site look bad-- unless you're already so big that you can weather all inconveniences.

I mean there are tons of crack sites over internet which are using similar download sites as I am looking.
Well, little bit less over the last year, but still are.
So stop trying to catch me on word - English is not my native and I can speak in 5 other languages, but start to answer the question!
