DNS Books / Resources to move out of newbie ville

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on any books or resources so I can learn a bit more a few areas I'm a bit shaky on.

I'm not sure whether these would also come under the DNS umbrella but I do some web development work and also do a little network administration but when I start hitting DNS issues I'm a bit stuck (small company so no senior techs to help me out).

Areas I'd like to learn more about would be mainly setting up DNS records, PTR, A records etc - have a vague idea what these do but more often than not I can create the site with our web host company and just change the nameservers for a domain and it all works fine.

However, I recently hit issues with having to point mail at a different server than the website by changing / creating an A record and am also having a problem with reverse DNS lookup as we have a local exchange server so the IP doesn't match the mail.domainname.com IP...

Would just like to find something that can give me a much better understanding of how it all fits together.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Andrew
