Internet advertising revenues in the U.S. hit $7.88 billion for the third quarter of 2011, representing a 22 percent increase over the same period in 2010, according to the latest IAB Internet Advertising Revenue Report figures released today by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC US. These figures also show a 2.7 percent uptick from the record-setting revenues of the second quarter of 2011. Results for Q3 2011 further mark the eighth consecutive quarter of year-over-year growth.
“Beyond the impressive year-over-year growth of 22 percent seen during the third quarter of this year, the ongoing increases in internet advertising revenues points to a new paradigm within the advertising world – one in which digital is taking a bigger seat at the table,” said David Silverman, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. “Moreover, even with a softened economy, digital advertising is making tremendous gains.”
