My site is pretty authoritative, especially in in two or three areas of health so I get lots of comments from people sharing their stories (in the comments section).
One of the things I think that helps and gives hope to others searching for information on health is to read about other people who have or are going through similar problems. And whilst I have had two or three such stories sent to me by readers (free, of course) who wanted their stories published on the site, I would like a lot more of these. I am even willing to pay good money for people to share their stories.
Like I say, I do get lots of comments and many people have shared their trials and tribulations in the comments section, but I am looking for articles in the main section of the site because they are easy to locate and are an integral part of the site whereas comments are a hit and miss as to whether people will find them. Sure, some people read on to the comments section, and I have had people exchange comments about medication and how they are coping with problems, but what would be good is to have more detailed pieces in the main section of the site.
I could request such stories on the site itself but am not sure if its a good idea. People would be willing to send their stories to really large and well-known health sites, but I don't think I will get a really positive response just yet because my site is not all that big.
