Looking for a Wordpress plugin showing popular posts by category

I have a plugin in my sidebar that shows most popular posts for the whole site and is defined by number of page views. This is a widely used plugin, but what I am looking for is another plugin that can be installed in the category section and will show the most popular posts in that category. This will obviously be placed inside the category section at the top before the posts in that category are listed.

Or, it could be a plugin that allows the user to choose the category they want too see the most popular posts from. This can be placed in the sidebar or anywhere else so it shows up on all pages.

Either way is fine. Are there such plugins?

Its just that as I write more posts, the older posts and the most popular ones will be more difficult to find as the newer posts will be listed on the front page in their respective category.

I have pages that have been read hundreds of thousands of times while other newer ones that have been read a few hundred times. I just want to make it easier for people to find those really popular pages, some of which have many comments which I feel can help our readers.

I use wp-review site... love it. Its got several widgets as well that allow you to do some sidebar category specific stuff. (Top rated by category, top rated by [active] category, etc etc)

I also think that if you dig into the code of the most popular posts plugin you are using, you can probably find a way to pass the active category, specific categories, etc into the query.

@mhansen - I've been thinking about trying that plugin on several sites. Did that plugin slow your site down at all?

No. Its pretty lightweight and loads quickly.

The "similar posts" plugin by Rob Marsh might do what you are looking for too.

Actually, I misread your original question as well - I thought you were looking for a most popular, based on reviews.
