How to know a website category

Hello, Im developing a php script witch can collect many information of each website automatically... please help me to to get any resource witch can give each website category (automatically)

for example:
google.com => search engine
facebook => social networking ...

Hi farhaty and welcome to Webmaster World.

I don't think anyone here can provide an answer for something like that. Search engines have been trying to brew something like that for 15 years and still don't know how to do it. If you figure out an algorithm for it one of them would probably hire you.

If you are looking at how directories classify sites then it is usually down to the site owner picking the categories manually.
