Is Wayback Machine Having Problems?

Recently I've been having problems trying to look at old web pages preserved in the Wayback Machine (Archive.org). Sometimes it works just fine, but fairly regularly a page is very slow to load, and sometimes it gives a message that a problem was encountered and you should to try again later.

Also, for two of my sites it appears to have stopped preserving any page copies beginning in 2008, although the sites are still live on the web.

This has caused me to wonder if the Wayback Machine's resources are being strained to the point that it can no longer keep up with the growth of the web. Has anyone heard anything about this?

They've also been slow for me for months.

I see a lot of SEO services that offer wayback stats are part of their package, I suspect that a lot of automated activity slows their server down.

They probably do have issues with the size of the web also, given the exponential growth of it. Anything that's scaling to the size of the web has to have a clever way to prioritize what gets spidered.

in addition, updating of the archive has been nonfunctional or intermittent at best for a couple of years or so.
