The effect of cookie killers on affiliates

Hi, I am wanting to add some affiliate links to my travel realted niche site, so a viewer clicks on the link and goes to the affiliate site and I get a %.

Thing is, when I look at my own setup, I run Firefox with Noscript and AdBlockPlus along with CCleaner which I run regularly.

So in such a setup as I have I am unlikely to get paid - is this a common problem within the affiliate business?

I don't know those particular tools so can't be sure what they do to cookies. Some firewalls do block some cookies and visitors may have their browser or security software set to purge cookies at the end of a session. What you will loose is the commission from people who click on your link, leave the site, then go back to buy later.
The details will depend on how the affiliate site functions.

It's possible but I don't think it's likely to happen. The average Joe probably wouldn't have a clue about CCleaner

Depends on the affiliate code. If the reference info is passed via url or if the other site retrieves info from other fields like the referrer, visitors can still use some privacy addons and you still get your percentage. But if it's only js and noscript is active, it won't work.

As of the addons many use them for security more than privacy. They may not know the technical details but is enough if they hear about secure surfing to use them.

Don't worry. This is 0,0001% of population. Unless you are selling some hacker-programming software that only geeks would buy you should not need to worry.
