Hi. I've been a web developer for a few years and have good skills and good quality of work. My problem at the moment is how to speed up my website development work, particularly in the areas of design and front-end coding. People complain that the work is good but that it's taking too long.
I've been looking into using Fireworks for design and just using Photoshop for assets, that seems to help a bit. Things like producing image sprites for rollovers take a long time. But a html div layout plus css seems to take 2 days+ for your average layout, particularly if you want it identical to the original design, which is what agencies expect.
I think I'm probably being very pedantic with design / front-end but I hate cutting corners as this makes for unprofessional work.
Are css preprocessors any good, just found them whilst searching. Looks amazing actually.
So any speed tips please from people with lots of experience?
