Does anyone have a good method of verifying that a business exists? I want businesses to be able to sign up for my service, but I also want to make sure they are legit.
This will be for US-only businesses.

American Better Business Bureau Reviews [bbb.org...] is a good starting point. A business does not have to be registered with them for them to have some basic information about them.

Meh . . . I just punched in a business at the BBB site that has been going for 7 years, online and off . . . nada. They are registered with the state and have a registered trademark.
That's really where I'd start, but may vary from state to state. Oregon's state business registration (and CA too, on a brief check) is the Secretary of State website. "business registration" [statename] in G should help.
