I have a blogspot blog and have went through the steps indicated by Google to use my own domain name on the blog. (greenwidgets.com for example)

When I go to Google and search for "greenwidgets.com" (without the quote marks) I get a message that http: //greenwidgets.com is not found on the server.

But if I search for "www.greenwidgets.com" (without the quote marks) I'm taken directly to the site/blog

How can I get it to work for searches for "greenwidgets.com" ?

Thanks, but those are the steps I've already completed.

I'm not sure if I understand the problem correctly.

Is it that searching for greenwidgets.com in Google gives you a search result that says "http: //greenwidgets.com is not found on the server" (rather than a snippet of text from your website)?

Or is it that if you type greenwidgets.com into the address bar and try to visit the site, it is not there?

there is a section in there that starts:
Create 'A' NAME records for your naked domain (blog.com)

are you saying you have created "A" records for greenwidgets.com and it still doesn't resolve?

note: in some cases it may take a day or more for your DNS to update.

It's the former, searching for greenwidgets.com in Google gives a search result that says "http: //greenwidgets.com is not found on the server" rather than a snippet of text from the site?

I have created "A" records following the instructions provided by blogspot - the same instructions that someone linked to previously in this thread.

It's been about 10 days.

is there a "Cached" link next to that search result?
perhaps that will give you some hints.
i am guessing the greenwidgets.com url was crawled and indexed before it was properly configured and has not been reindexed yet.
