Hi,

I am connecting to a FTP server using IE8. It connects fine but when I clicks on "httpdocs" folder to view its contents, the connection times out.
It works fine in Firefox and Chrome and this thing is only happening in IE (all versions 6, 7 ,8) that I cannot go inside "httpdocs" folder. Plus it also doesn't work when I use some FTP client like CuteFTP e.t.c.
The server is Windows 2003 running IIS.

What could be the problem?

As you've learned, browsers don't make good FTP clients. An FTP client will let you adjust the connection type.

Are you running through a proxy of any sort?

Ok problem is solved. It has something to do with Passive mode so I changed it to PORT mode and now it works fine in CuteFTP.
