I'm having problems with someone on sbcglobal in particular. Trying to find the range to just ban on ARIN. The user uses sbcglobal in the San Francisco bay area, but keeps changing his IP. He has some kind of cloaking software that changes it, but the geo area is San Francisco.
Sure would be nice to be able to ban the sbcglobal range for Sanfrancisco bay area altogether to stop this.
Any ideas? Many thanks for your clever help.
To answer your question, no, you cannot get an IP out of an email address. But what kind of abuse are we talking about? If it's bad enough, you can make a list of his IP addresses along with the date/times at which he used them, the ISP may will know who it was and send a warning. However, this isn't likely, and they're more likely to do nothing.
