General-interest site, < 5% on obselete browsers

My main site is very much general interest (well, niche in its way, but definitely not attracting a distinctively tech-savvy crowd).

According to Google Analytics, about 3.5% of my visitors are using IE6 or lower, while about 1% are using Firefox 2.x or lower.

Given that IE7 was a significant step up from IE6 and does indeed support most of the things I've been wanting to use for years, it looks like I can finally give up IE6 support and move on to real web design.

Bring on the transparent PNG's and :hover! :)

Firefox surpassed IE now showing 45.6% vs. 44.2%
Firefox usage is about 60.3% for the 3.5x versions and only 1,27% for ver 2.
IE usage: 8.0 = 50%, 7.0 = 35%, 6.0 = 15%

My IE6 share is still 13.8%, probably because many of my visitors are coming from corporate networks.

another is over 50% Safari!
