Hi,

I'm looking for a good password protect folder software that will allow me to set a password on certain folders on my PC.

Can anyone recommend any good software that can do this?

I'm looking for something that will show a password pop-up box when a user clicks on a protected folder. Then you would just enter your password and gain access to that protected folder.

Thank you,

olimits7

If you're using Windows then you could use the built-in security to allow or deny access to folders based on the username. Those users would need Windows accounts on your network.

Thanks for the replies...

I actually found a good one that does exactly what I need; it's called "Folder Guard Pro" if anyone is interested!

Thanks again,

It is essential that the files are both encrypted and protected; otherwise someone can mount that part of a drive from a non-Windows machine and read the files. Be sure that the software or method you choose achieves this!

I saw Winsesame recommended somewhere and have been using their free version which will protect files upto 50kb in size.

I'm no expert but the spec looked good to me - would be intrested to hear anyones comments on this product
