Deleting first post from thread that already has replies?

Disallow it, show system message, or something else?

I'm having a rare bout of persistent indecisiveness; what would be the best way to handle deleting the original post of a thread if replies to the post have already been made?

Tricky question and hard to tell without knowing the context.

Personally, I would decide based on the following :

OP unacceptable but replies meaningful > replace OP with system message referring to ToS

OP unacceptable and replies waffle > delete the lot
