Outlook Express Delete Key

Could someone please help me to find out why my "Delete Key" will not delete characters within a message in Outlook Express.

The Backspace key does this OK, but the delete key stopped deleting characters a couple of weeks ago. The Delete Key works in all other applications and will delete a message within OE folders.

There seem to be a number of people on the net complaining about this. My first suggestion would be to get off Outlook Express as it's old and outdated.

However that guys problem appears to be deleting messages or folders whereas my problem is deleting characters with the delete key within a message being composed.

So I am still searching for a solution.
