A government without newspapers, a government without a tough and vibrant media of all sorts is not an option for the United States of Americain his speech at a black tie dinner tonight.
Those are strong words. I agree that media can ensure a government remains honest but I don't believe the solution is to dumb down internet to let newspapers earn more profit.
There has to be a better way for newspapers to profit without touching the internet at all but if one isn't found, do the presidents words loom ominous over potential new internet regulations?
